VFW Riders

Got a motorcycle ? We have established  the 8760 VFWR – Our Motorcycle Riders Group. We are not a motorcycle club (MC). We are a Group or Riders made up of an equal partnership between the VFW and VFW Auxiliary (men’s and ladies) members in good standing. The group has many goals, and is primarily focused towards promoting and supporting the VETERANS of FOREIGN WARS and the VFW AUXILIARIES. Our members come from all walks of life with two things in common membership in the VFW or one of it's Auxiliaries and our love of riding.

Our organizational structure in accordance with Resolution 308, we are considered something like an Honor Guard.  ALL monies we raise in conjunction with the Post (Poker runs, dances, events, etc.) are handed over to the Post Quartermaster, who deposits the money into a "Line Item" account under the VFW Riders name. This account is reflected on each month's Post statement and on each Post quarterly statement and requires two VFW Riders officer signatures to access.

The Rider Group offers our members something else, something different. It is a draw for new members and provides a common bond between members who enjoy the sport of Riding Motorcycles. We are noticed when we participate in Memorial Services, Parades and draw the public in when we support Post Fundraisers.

To become a Rider, you have to become involved in the Post and upon completing a membership application and payment of $25.00 membership fee. There will be no annual dues you just have to be a member in good standing. All New Riders must earn their Back Patch through Post community service of 100 hours. Only at that time will you qualify to purchase the Patch through the post quartermaster. The VFW Riders Back Patch is never referred to as Colors worn by Motorcycle Clubs. As we pointed out above, we are not a motorcycle club.
Our Riders group has many goals, primarily focused towards promoting and supporting the VETERANS of FOREIGN WARS and the VFW AUXILIARIES.

If you are interested, and ready for many new challenges ahead in joining the VFW Riders, please contact Board Member (Coach) Joe Pilon for more details. 803-718-6673
